Ann-Maree Sweeney is a registered counsellor, clinical supervisor and DBT group therapist with over 30-years of experience in mental health care.
Ann-Maree has worked as a registered counsellor in a variety of not-for-profit organisations, specialising in the areas of addictions, sexual and domestic violence, Indigenous mental health and LGBTIQ+. For the past three years, she has focused on her private practice, supporting hundreds of individuals on their journey to recovery. Ann-Maree has over 1000 hours of supervision practice, working with organisations as both an individual and group supervisor.
Before becoming a counsellor and clinical supervisor, Ann-Maree spent over twenty years working as a registered nurse, specialising in psychiatry, sexual health/HIV and drug and alcohol. Her knowledge of how medication and disease can affect the human mind and spirit, informs her transparent and person-centered approach to counselling.
Ann-Maree is experienced in CBT, psychodynamic, trauma-informed counselling, as well as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Her holistic and genuine method of practice is tailor-made to each client’s needs, priorities and goals.
