Ann-Maree Sweeney is a registered counsellor, clinical supervisor and group therapist with over 30-years of experience in mental health care.
Ann-Maree has worked as a counsellor in a variety of not-for-profit organisations, specialising in the areas of addictions, sexual health, LGBTIQ and Indigenous mental health. Currently she works with multiple EAP counselling providers to deliver online and phone counselling to clients around Australia.
Before becoming a counsellor, Ann-Maree spent over twenty years working as a registered nurse, specialising in psychiatry, sexual health/HIV and drug and alcohol. Her knowledge of how medication and disease can affect the human mind and spirit, informs her transparent and person-centered approach to counselling.
Ann-Maree is experienced in CBT, psychodynamic, trauma-informed counselling, as well as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Her holistic and genuine method of practice is tailor-made to each client’s needs, priorities and goals.
